This week I had a Pulmonary SNIFF test to give us a little more insight into my chronic respiratory failure and function of my diaphragm. It demonstrates significant weakness or partial paresis of my right hemidiaphragm, characterized by reduced excursion and delayed contraction. While it is not completely paralyzed, its strength and timing are notably impaired. This may reflect right phrenic nerve dysfunction, partial neuromuscular compromise, or impaired muscular tone.
