Our common snapping turtle patient was hit by a vehicle in late June of this year. You can see cracks on the right side of her shell where it was fractured. Her CT scan was to investigate buoyancy issues that we believe were caused by air bubbles that entered into her shell through those cracks and were trapped. Thankfully, her floatation problems are resolving on their own and we don’t believe we will have to do further intervention. We will monitor her health through the winter to make sure sh
