It’s very common in a wide legged forward fold for students to force their legs into a straight position by pushing the knees back. Close the distance, cut them off, take ground—THEN take their leg🦵 Circling alone keeps the distance the same—so by the time you shoot, the shot you want won’t be there. If you don’t close the distance and take ground FIRST, you’ll always be chasing what’s already gone💨 Cutting them off isn’t about chasing— it’s about controlling direction. Every step you take forward at an angle steals space, forces a reaction, and creates your window to attack. Watch 5-time NCAA Champion Carter Starocci—he’s

Popping is one of the most important movements in snowboarding. It’s a two-footed jump where you subtly shift your weight toward your back foot, keeping your tail in contact with the snow or Balance Bar until takeoff. A great way to train this is with the Jib Training Setup. Practice popping off your back foot so your front foot leaves first. The goal is to get onto a rail with minimal extra height, staying smooth and controlled. Keep a slight bend in your knees throughout the motion and land in

When someone’s hips rise too early in the deadlift, the first thing I usually look at is their setup. In most cases, the bar is either not lined up over the midfoot, it has been pushed forward away from the body, or the lifter is not engaging their lats effectively, allowing the bar to drift. All of these faults shift the load away from the quads and force the hips to shoot up as the body tries to find leverage. But in this case, none of those were the issue. My setup was correct.
