The silk for Marie Antoinette’s gown was ordered from Paris at enormous expense by her mother, Empress Maria Theresa of Austria. The exceptional gown on display is itself a copy of the dress worn by Marie Antoinette’s sister-in-law, the comtesse d’Artois, for her wedding at Versailles in 1773. 📍V&A Museum"
