Kentucky was one of several states that were able to issue partial benefits during the shutdown following a federal ruling in favor of partially restoring benefits. Beshear also declared a state of emergency during the shutdown to direct $5 million to Feeding Kentucky food banks.
The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration says full SNAP benefits will be issued starting Saturday. The announcement comes days after the U.S. Department of Agriculture reversed its move to reduce SNAP benefits for eligible households.
