Every day of the federal government shutdown air traffic controllers calling out sick have caused flight delays, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said Friday.

Senate Democrats have repeatedly voted down a Republican-backed bill to reopen the government during the shutdown, insisting Congress first extend subsidies for health plans under the Affordable Care Act. They have refused to back down from their demands that Congress address health care subsidies before any funding deal moves forward.

Polls opened at 10 a.m. on Oct. 25, and by 10:45 a.m., about 30 people were waiting in line at the River Vale Community Center in River Vale to vote.
