The Houston Texans have an update on C.J. Stroud following a day after falling short in an 18-15 loss against the Denver Broncos.

GM Nick Caserio's history suggests he won't be active at the NFL's trade deadline and that's part of the reason the Texans likely won't make any splashy moves.

Despite the Jacksonville Jaguars placing Travis Hunter on injured reserve heading into the contest against the Las Vegas Raiders, the team would end up winning 30-29 on Sunday. In the contest, history was made as Jaguars kicker Cam Little connected on a 68-yard field goal to get the NFL record right before halftime.

At the top of the second quarter, Stroud would go down with a concussion following a scramble, taken down by Broncos cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine, which would sideline Houston's star quarterback for the remainder of the contest, elevate Davis Mills for the rest of the day, and wound up coming up short 15-18.

J.J. Watt will get to call his second Houston Texans game of his rookie season in the broadcast booth, but this will be his first inside NRG Stadium where his name hangs in the Ring of Honor.

Combs was elevated from the Jaguars' practice squad to the active roster Saturday. Combs, a rookie undrafted free agent out of Wake Forest, earned his first NFL opportunity in Week 7 against the Rams.

The Jacksonville Jaguars were on a bye in Week 8. That doesn't necessarily mean they didn't move in the NFL's power rankings, though.
